Meaningful Alternative Homework

I have always had ideological issues with homework. As a result, I assign very very little. This week, though, I thought that it would be fun to try something different. Many of the tasks below I grabbed from David Wees's post 15 Things Kids Can Do Instead of Homework, but quite a few wouldn't work well for the uber rural community we're in.

I am super excited about this idea. I added the parent initials lines hesitantly. I actually want the students to do these tasks and I'm hoping that having them initial will increase the likelihood that they'll take this work/fun seriously.

What do you think? I would love to have a few other suggestions!
